Hey guys! So sorry for the hiatus. Uni got totally mad since easter and I honestly did not had the time.
This year I have been social secretary of the History Society and last week it was our final event of the year, the Summer Ball. My favourite part of almost all nights out, is the getting ready, so I thought I'd bring you along with me.
The final look!
Two slightly jokey photos.. I have been obsessed with Suits, so I got ready watching an episode (or two...). And the second photo just sort of emphasises the shit tonne of fake tan I had on! I had applied two layers of the St Moriz Dark Mousse.
To prime my face I used the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm and then Benefit Porefessional.
Because I had so much tan on I used the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Skin Perfector (discontinued) all over my face to tan my base up, then I used the Elf all over cover stick to highlight the top of my cheekbones, above my eyebrows and down my nose. I also used the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer in a triangle under my eyes so really brighten up the area (too many late nights in the library).
For foundation I mixed Mac Studio Fix Fluid with Elf Studio Flawless Finish foundation to get the colour right. Then I used Mac Studio Finish Concealer on my blemishes. To powder I used Mac Skin Finish Natural in Light.
As bronzer I used the St Tropez Bronzer (which smells amazing) all over my face and Benefit Hoola over my cheeks, forehead and nose. To contour I used the Sleek Contour Powder. And for blush I used Elf Studio in Blushing Rose.
Then I primed my eyelids with Elf Eyelid Primer in Sheer. On my eyebrows I had Mac Charcoal Brown and then the Elf eyebrow set to set them.
I used a few of the darker shades from the MUA Heaven and Earth Palette. Also I used the shimmery colour from the Sleek Au Naturel palette.
Then I curled my eyelashes with my Primark eyelash curler. Then a winged eyeliner with the Lancome Artliner. Then I applied the Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara. And on my waterline this Sephora brown-bronzey khol eyeliner.
Because we were having a sit down dinner I didn't want a full on bold lip, re-applying would have been far too much hassle. So instead I put on some Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour cream and then dabbed a little bit of Mac Ruby Woo and rubbed it in with my finger.
Now on to brushes.. excuse their dirtiness but I took the photos after I did the makeup!
From left to right: Avon face brush that I used to bronze. The Real Techniques Blush brush for blush. The Real Techniques contour brush to contour.
To apply and blend the eyeshadow I used two Mac 217's. To put on my eyebrows I used the Elf Small Angled brush.
Left to right: Elf Small Stipple brush to blend in the Elf coverstick which I used to highlight. Elf Stipple brush to apply the cream bronzer all over my face. Real Techniques Buffing brush to put on foundation. The Sigma Tapered Highlighter brush to powder under my eyes and the Elf Powder brush for powdering the rest of my face.
The fake eyelashes I wore were my favourites from Primark which are the 'sultry' lashes- at £1 they are as good as the Mac pairs I've owned in the past. I used Duo lash adhesive and tweezers to apply them.
I wore a beautiful Oh My Love white dress (it's on sale right now for £20!) and then these were the accessories: The Blazer is from H&M and the strappy heels were a bargain from the Zara sale- just £6.99!
I hope you enjoyed this post.
Now I've finished uni for the summer so expect regular weekly posts, if not more!
