Kardashian Inspired Contour and Highlight Routine & My Favourite Products!

Hello guys! This week i've been watching a lot of Keeping up with the Kardashians and it has inspired me to show you guys hows I contour and highlight and what products I like to use when I do it. I tend not to do this on a day to day basis but I will do this for nights out. Oh how I wish I had Kardashian cheekbones!!
So what are some of my favourite products?

To highlight I love a mixture of creams, powders and concealers. And to contour it's the same; a mix of creams and powders.

So to contour: I love the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Custom Face Perfector in 'tan- DARK 1' (but sadly discontinued). I use it under my foundation and it gives a lovely subtle contoured look when worn like that. As far as powders are concerned two come out on top for me. The high-street option is Sleek 's Face Contour Kit in 'Light' (be warned it's still not that light!). The more high-end option is (of course) Benefit Hoola! Both work beautifully on top of foundation and powder for me.

And to highlight: I adore the whole light concealer under your foundation look as a highlighter. So for this I tend to use one of three things. The first is my MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC20. The second is Collection's Lasting Perfection Concealer in '1 Fair'. And the third is ELF All Over Cover Stick in 'Ivory'. Essentially these all do the same thing and all work well to brighten my under-eye, above the brow and on my chin.
I also love the Topshop Skin Glow in 'light'(sadly I don't think they sell this any more). This looks gorgeous on top and under foundation, and in the summer I love mixing this with my foundation in the evenings to give my skin a real glow. Stunning!
And as for powders the one I tend to use time and time again, mostly out of ease, is the highlight powder in the Sleek Contour Kit. It's a very pretty, rosey-silvery-gold powder which brightens the cheekbones amazingly. But I have to admit I think there must be better ones out there. If any of you have any suggestions please comment below!

So now to show you my highlight and contour routine:

1. I'm starting here with a clean face, with moisturiser and Benefit Porefessional primer on. (I have my eye makeup and brows on just to save time).

2. Now I've taken the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Custom Face Perfector on a Real Techniques 'contour brush'. I've blended this onto my jawline, cheekbones and temples/forehead.

Before being blended- looking crazy!

After the ELF cover stick is blended out
3. Now I have taken the ELF All Over Cover Stick and applied it under my eyes (in a somewhat triangle shape), above my eyebrows, down my nose, and on my chin. Then I blended it out with the ELF Studio Small Stipple Brush.

4. I now put on my foundation (in this case MAC Face and Body Foundation in N3 with a little of Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in 100 'ivory' mixed into it). On top of the foundation I put the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in '1 fair' in all the areas I highlighted before. Then I blended it out with my Real Techniques Sponge.

5. Then I powdered my skin with MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural 'Light'. Then I have taken the Sleek Contour Kit contour colour and placed that under my cheek bones and up onto my temples with the ELF Studio Angled Blush Brush. I also used the ELF Studio Angled Contour Brush to take a small amount of the contour colour down the sides of my nose. Then I have taken my powder brush and just blended it all together to ensure there are no harsh lines.

6. With my Sigma F35 Tapered Highlighter brush I have taken a small amount of the highlight powder from the Sleek Kit and put on on the top of my cheekbones, my nose and cupids-bow.

 Et voila! All done!

I really hope you found this helpful in some way. Let me know if you did!

I placed a cheeky ELF order last night, so expect a haul shortly! I used their coupon code to get £10 off my order! The coupon code is: (in the UK) 100314. Click here to shop.

Thanks for reading.
Lots of love, C xxx
