So... What Did I Buy From ELF?

So last weekend I placed a cheeky ELF order. They had a £10 off coupon code which, of course, I got sucked into! I thought I'd show you what I got and some initial thoughts on some of the items. Some things are new to me, others a repurchases.

First is this Eyelid Primer. I got it in 7501 sheer. I bought this as a bit of a trial. I LOVE the Urban Decay Primer Potion but I've just run out of my little tube and thought i'd give this one a try. At just £1.95 I haven't got a lot to lose!

Next I picked out this Wet Gloss Lash and Brow Clear Mascara. I put this in my cart because I needed a new brow gel. They always get so gross and don't stay clear for long anyway, so I really don't see much point in spending big bucks on something like this. So I didn't, it was just £1.95. I gave it a quick go yesterday and it seemed ok. But did make my eyebrows feel a little hard and crunchy- but they didn't budge.

Next up are two brushes. The Blending Eye Brush and the Eye Crease Brush. At £1.95 each they are very cheap but my-oh-my doesn't it show! As you can see in the second picture of the Eye Crease brush the bristles are already shedding like crazy. They aren't soft, they are misshapen and generally a no-no. I wouldn't even spend £1.95 on them!

On to more successful territory. This blush looks crazy but is actually really pretty on! It's the Studio Blush in Pink Passion and is just £3.95. I've spoken about Candid Coral on my blog before which is an all time favourite and this matte bright pink blush I can see getting some heavy use, especially when I have a bit of a tan.

Another success story. This Studio Moisturising Lipstick in Pink Minx is just gorgeous. I was in the market for a new spring appropriate lippy as a move away from my winter MAC favourites (Diva and Ruby Woo). This colour is stunning, it's bright enough to show up but not too bright that I couldn't wear it daily. The formula is nice and creamy but the product doesn't look too shiny on. And at just £3.95 it is a real bargain, especially compared to the £15 for a MAC one.

Back on to less impressive picks. This Plumping Lip Gloss in 2911 Wink Pink is a very pretty pink shade (which is what I bought it for) and a shimmery clear gloss on the other end. As I say, the pink colour is really nice but they are just so sticky! I had to take is straight off! I guess at £1.95 I shouldn't have had expectations too high but this was a real disappointment.

And finally a product I've had before. The Studio Flawless Finish Foundation in Buff. I know when swatched this looks super dark for me, and right now it is, but I bought this for when I have a heck tonne of fake tan on. Right now (with no tan on at all) I'm a NC15-20 and with tan I get up to an NC25/30. It's only £7.50 and had SPF 15 and is oil free. I love the way it looks on my skin and gives me a great satin/dewy finish. I really like it!

So in total without the £10 off this order should have come to £25.15 and postage was £2.95. But with the £10 off it came to a grand total of £18.10.
All in all a mixed success. In general I adore ELF, as you could probably tell from the amount of products of theirs that I mention. But I think I just need to stick to the studio line because their regular line just doesn't seem to cut it!

I hope you all enjoyed this. Check back soon for more posts.
Lots of love C xxx
